Gate dedication and AGM

Our AGM was preceded by a dedication of the new HQ gates by our President Richard Adlem in memory of Emily Brown.

Opening ceremony of the entrance gatesOur President Mr Richard T Adlem made a very emotional and moving speech before conducting the opening ceremony of the entrance gates at the HQ in memory of Beaver Scout Emily Brown, this was followed by the AGM.

The following were elected to the group executive committee, Chairman Peter Wilkinson, Vice Chairman Toby Cullen, Secretary Abi Carlyle-Clarke, Treasurer Bev Jesse, Committee and scout shop manager Ros Adams, committee member, Lou Billington, Donna Rendell, Alix Fauvel, Sarah Chandler, Duncan Chandler, Geoff Parnell, and Tarda Davidson- Atkins.

Skip John thanked retiring Treasurer Sarah Hallett for her sterling service and made a presentation of a gift from the group in recognition, he also thanked Naomi and in her absence, Rachel for their outstanding service on the group committee and wished them well in their forthcoming adventure as leaders.

We can never have to many committee members to support our worthy leadership team so if any of you feel that you could give a little time please contact either Peter Wilkinson or John Curtis.



The District Commissioner Mr David McGregor who was in attendance voiced concern about the lack of parent support at the meeting, he went on to say that 1st Woodcutts should be congratulated on growing the group and be an inspiration for others to follow, he said that what you get from First Woodcutts was a can do attitude. He also congratulated us on raising £2883.00 for the purchase of Shelter Boxes and presented the GSL, John Curtis with a certificate from them in recognition.
